A little about my story,

Then off to the good stuff including tricks of the trade and stories that can only evolve from experience.

Having worked in home care for the past 15 years, I have found that it is easier to care for someone if you understand them as an individual and not just as a client. Learning their routines and interests helps to develop a relationship with the individual. This provides the tools needed in order for them to feel comfortable and relaxed. It also makes it easier to cater to their individual needs. Sometimes it is just being there so they know they are not alone. Sometimes its helping them bathe so they feel clean and not embarrassed or stressed about hygiene. Its making their favorite meals when they are having a bad day or bringing a sense of encouragement even when something doesn’t go their way. Engaging in conversation and being attentive can help to find what works best for your loved ones. The passion I have come to develop for this industry has pulled at my heart on many occasions. Someday we all reach a point where we might need a little extra help. I use the knowledge and skills I have come to acquire over the years to do my best at being the care giver your loved ones need.
